CRTD spread the technologies mainly through conduct and management of technology training courses and orientation for PBSP-assisted farmers, communities and other clients inside and outside the country.

    CRTD training complex is surrounded by the BUKHAY (Bukid ng Buhay) demonstration and technology farm. Thus, everything around is rural and serene. The site is conducive for learning, making it an ideal place for the conduct of training programs, teambuilding, and other group activities. At CRTD Training Center, the participants could relax and find tranquility at CRTD semi-park landscape and farm complex.

  • CRTD Study Tour

    CRTD also conducts study tours and can accomodate batches of participants inclusive of board and lodging in linked with other institutions and partners.

  • CRTD Programs and Services

    CRTD provides different programs and services needed by farmers and other individuals or communities.These services are also open to private institutions, NGOs, PO, LGUs and other governments agencies.

CRTD hosts PBSP staff Christmas Party

With the theme, Barrio Fiesta, PBSP staff Christmas party 2008 was held last December 19, 2008 at CRTD Calauan, Laguna.

During the Christmas party, some PBSP staff showed off their talents during the group folk dance presentations. Moreover, loyalty service awardees were recognized during the celebration. One of these awardees is Ediser A. Villaran of CRTD who have been working for PBSP-CRTD for twenty years.

CRTD conducts International Study Tour

As part of its goal to disseminate agricultural skills and technologies, PBSP-CRTD held the second batch of Agricultural Training and Extension Improvement Project (ATEIP) International Study Tour last December 4-13, 2008.

This study tour consisted of two parts. During the first part, the six Nepalese extension workers were trained on Agricultural Extension and Communication Skills for Effective Extension Work. This training was held at CRTD training center at Calauan, Laguna last December 4 to 7, 2008. The resource persons of this training-workshop were Dr. Roger Cuyno, for Agricultural Extension, and the team from the College of Development Communication, University of the Philippines Los Baños, headed by Ms. Mildred Moscoso, for the Communication Skills.

The second part of the study tour was the visit to the different community development project sites of PBSP and dialogue with some of PBSP-assisted cooperatives in the Visayas Region. This tour covered areas in Bohol, Cebu, and Iloilo.

The participants of this batch of study tour were junior technicians and junior technical assistants of ATEIP and Nepal government. The group was headed by Mr. Kanchan Raj Pandey, Senior Agriculture Economist of the Department of Agriculture in Hariharbhawan, Lalitpur, Nepal.

This study tour gathered positive feedback from the participants and coordinators. "I am impressed with your organization's endeavor to make sustained local institutions which are working to uplift socio-economic condition of the needy people. As I am also coordinating Public-Private-Partnership projects, it was my great opportunity to learn a lot from your projects- designed on PPP approach," Pandey said.

In line with its efforts, CRTD has developed Bukid ng Buhay (BUKHAY) or Farm of Life Integrated Farming Systems, which follows the principles of diversification, integration, optimum resource management, gradual shift to organic farming, and entrepreneurship. The farming systems models of BUKHAY are open for Technology Orientation programs.

From its creation in 1979, CRTD has been providing technical assistance to different organizations, corporations, government agencies and individuals. In addition, CRTD has reached more Filipinos through the training and assistance it has conducted. Through the years, it has built partnership with organizations that share the same mission of upgrading agricultural technologies to alleviate poverty, and the same principle of helping people help themselves.
